Community Participation Across Logan
Logan is full of community connection points — sports clubs, libraries, places of worship, shopping centres, parks, social groups. The challenge for many participants is not finding things to do but having reliable support to actually get there and stay engaged.
Our Logan community participation workers know the area. They know the accessible venues, the public transport routes, the social groups that welcome NDIS participants, and the small things that make outings work — where to park, which entrance is best, which staff member at the gym to ask for.

Why Local Delivery Matters in Logan
Community participation only works when the worker actually knows the community. A worker driving in from elsewhere can technically do the job, but they do not know which café in Beenleigh has good wheelchair access or which Saturday market in Logan Central is friendliest to NDIS groups.
Logan’s diversity is also part of the work. Our community participation workers can support participants in culturally specific spaces — places of worship, community festivals, language-specific social groups.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Logan support worker take me to a regular weekly activity?
Yes. Most community participation works best on a regular schedule. The same worker takes you to your Tuesday choir, Thursday gym, Saturday social group.
What if the activity is in Brisbane — can my Logan worker drive me there?
Yes. Cross-region trips are part of community participation. Travel time is funded under your transport allowance and the worker time is funded under community participation.
Can two participants share a community participation outing?
Yes. 1:2 group ratios are funded at lower per-participant rates and work well for participants who get on. We can match participants who would do well together.
Can community participation include overnight stays?
Single overnight stays for events (camps, family weddings) can usually be supported. Multi-night trips need to be planned against your plan and discussed with your coordinator.
What if I want to try a new activity I have never done before?
We can support you to try it. Many participants use community participation specifically for trying new things — the support worker is there to help you settle in and decide if it is something to continue.
