NDIS Therapeutic Supports

NDIS Therapeutic Supports

Therapy that stays in the clinic rarely produces the change participants are actually after. Progress happens when a strategy set in a session gets carried through into real, everyday moments, at home, at work, out in the community.

Superior Quality Care now delivers NDIS therapeutic supports directly, with qualified allied health staff working alongside our support worker team, so therapy and daily support aren't two disconnected services running in parallel.

What NDIS therapeutic supports include

Our therapeutic team works with participants on the goals set out in their NDIS plan, coordinated closely with their daily support so what happens in a session and what happens at home line up.

  • Occupational therapy, for daily living skills, sensory needs, home modifications, and equipment
  • Speech pathology, for communication, social language, and swallowing where required
  • Psychology and behaviour support, for emotional regulation, behaviour strategies, and mental health goals
  • Physiotherapy input, for mobility, strength, and movement-related goals
  • Direct handover to support workers, so strategies are reinforced consistently between sessions

Why in-house therapy and daily support work better together

When therapy and support work are delivered separately, strategies often get lost in translation, a written report doesn't always capture what a therapist actually meant, and support workers are left guessing.

Because our therapeutic and support work sit under the same team, our therapists brief support workers directly, and support workers feed back what's actually happening day to day. That loop is what turns a therapy strategy into a habit, not just a note in a file.

Who this suits

Therapeutic supports suit participants with a specific goal an allied health professional can address, communication, movement, sensory regulation, behaviour, or daily living skills, as well as participants who already have some therapy input but want it delivered more consistently alongside their daily support.

If you're not sure which therapy discipline is the right starting point, our team can talk through your goals and recommend where to begin.

Why choose Superior Quality Care

  • Qualified allied health professionals delivering therapy directly, not just support workers reinforcing someone else's plan
  • Direct coordination between therapists and support workers under one provider
  • Registered NDIS provider covering Brisbane, Redbank Plains, Ipswich, Logan, and Toowoomba
  • Clear, regular reporting for participants, families, and support coordinators

Funding your therapeutic supports

Therapeutic supports are generally funded under Capacity Building, through categories like Improved Daily Living, Improved Relationships, or Improved Health and Wellbeing, depending on which discipline and goals are involved. We'll confirm which part of your plan applies before starting.

Getting an initial assessment

If you're new to therapeutic supports, or unsure which discipline fits your goals, we start with an initial assessment rather than assuming. Our therapist will talk through your goals, current challenges, and what's already in your NDIS plan before recommending a course of therapy.

For participants already receiving daily support from us, this assessment also draws on what our support workers already know about your routine and preferences, so the therapy plan starts from an accurate picture rather than a single clinic visit.

Working with your support coordinator

Therapeutic supports work best when they're properly coordinated with the rest of a participant's team, rather than sitting off to the side. We're happy to join case conferences or provide written reports to a support coordinator or plan manager if that helps keep everyone aligned.

If a participant doesn't currently have a support coordinator, that's not a barrier to starting therapy with us, our therapists can liaise directly with family, school, or other providers in the meantime. If plan complexity increases later, we can also flag when a support coordinator might genuinely help.

We keep clear session notes and progress reporting, so families, support coordinators, and the NDIA (where relevant for plan reviews) have an accurate record of progress against therapy goals.

Problems Faced by NDIS Participants

A common problem is the disconnect between therapy sessions and daily life, a strategy set by a therapist doesn't get reinforced consistently at home, so progress stalls. Families also often struggle to coordinate between multiple providers, a therapist here, a support worker there, none of them talking to each other.

How We Solve This & How Active We Are

Because our therapeutic and support work sit under one team, our therapists brief support workers directly and get feedback on how strategies are actually landing day to day. We're active across Brisbane, Redbank Plains, Ipswich, Logan, and Toowoomba, with therapy and daily support coordinated through the same provider rather than left for the family to manage between separate services.
