NDIS Household Tasks Support in Brisbane
Superior Quality Care is an NDIS-registered provider ABN: 98642221207 that helps people with disability keep their home clean, safe and comfortable. Our support workers assist with everyday household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and grocery shopping, so you can spend your time and energy on what matters to you.
We do tasks with you where you want to build your skills, and for you where you need us to. Your support is shaped around your routine, your preferences and the funding in your NDIS plan.
What Are Household Tasks Under the NDIS?
Household tasks support is NDIS-funded help with everyday jobs around the home that a person cannot do on their own because of their disability. It is part of Core Supports, in the Assistance with Daily Life category.
The aim is to help you live in a clean, safe and healthy home with dignity and as much independence as possible. Support depends on your needs and what is approved in your plan, so it looks different for every participant.
Household Support We Provide
Cleaning Assistance
Our support workers help keep your home clean and hygienic with dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom and kitchen cleaning, and surface cleaning. We work to a routine that suits you, whether you need weekly support or help with particular rooms.
Laundry Support
We help with washing, drying, folding and ironing, and with putting clothes and linen away. We can also change bed linen. This saves you time and effort and helps you always have clean clothes ready.
Meal Preparation
Our team prepares meals with you or for you, taking into account your dietary needs, allergies and food preferences. Cooking together is a great way to build skills, so we encourage this where you would like to. For help learning to cook for yourself, see our daily living skills support.
Grocery Shopping Support
We can go shopping with you, or shop on your behalf, so you always have the essentials at home. Shopping together can help you build confidence with money and planning, and we can help with travel and transport assistance to and from the shops. Groceries are paid for by the participant, not through the NDIS.
Home Organisation and Tidying
From decluttering to keeping your belongings in order, we help make your home easier to move around and easier to manage. We organise cupboards, sort mail and keep your space safe and functional, always in a way that suits you.
What Is and Isn't Included
Being clear about this helps avoid confusion.
Usually included:
- Regular cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, grocery shopping support and tidying
- Support that is approved in your plan and set out in your service agreement
Not usually included:
- Ordinary living costs such as cleaning products, food and groceries (participants pay for these)
- Specialist or one-off work such as pest control, hoarding clean-ups or work that needs a licensed tradesperson
- Medication support, which is a separate support and not part of household tasks
- Support that is not related to your disability
If you are not sure whether something is covered, ask us or your support coordinator before booking.
Who Can Access Household Tasks Support?
Household tasks support is for NDIS participants who cannot do everyday household tasks on their own because of their disability and who have this support funded in their plan. It may suit people who:
- Live with a physical disability that makes cleaning, laundry or cooking difficult or unsafe
- Live with an intellectual or cognitive disability and need help with planning and routines
- Live with a psychosocial disability that affects energy, motivation or organisation
- Need regular help to keep their home safe and hygienic
The NDIS decides what is funded based on each person's needs and goals.
How We Work With You
Our approach is respectful, flexible and based on your choices.
- • Your home, your way: we follow your routines and preferences, including how you like things cleaned and organised
- • With you or for you: you decide how much you want to do yourself, and we support you to build skills where you want to
- • Consistent workers: we aim to send the same support workers where possible, so you know who is coming
- • Privacy and respect: we respect your home, your belongings and your personal space
- • Clear arrangements: we confirm days, times and tasks in your service agreement, including how to change or cancel a visit
How Household Tasks Are Funded
Household tasks are generally funded under Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life). The NDIS funds the extra support you need because of your disability. It does not fund your everyday living costs such as groceries and cleaning products.
How you pay for support depends on how your plan is managed:
- • Self-managed: you choose your providers and pay invoices yourself
- • Plan-managed: your plan manager pays invoices from your plan
- • NDIA-managed: you need to use a registered provider, like us
We cannot guarantee funding, because the NDIS makes the final decision. If you need help understanding your plan, our support coordination team can explain your options. Our guide to accessing disability support through the NDIS also explains the basics.
How to Get Started
- • Get in touch. Call us, email us or send an enquiry. Tell us about the tasks you need help with.
- • Talk about your needs: We listen to your routine, preferences and goals, and check what is in your plan.
- • Plan your support: We agree on tasks, days and times, and set these out in a service agreement.
- • Start your support: Your support worker begins, and we make sure you feel comfortable.
- • Review and adjust: We check in regularly and change your support when your needs change.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are NDIS household tasks?
NDIS household tasks are supports that help participants manage everyday jobs at home, such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and grocery shopping, when their disability makes these hard to do alone.
What household tasks does the NDIS cover?
The NDIS can fund support with tasks like vacuuming, mopping, laundry, meal preparation and changing bed linen. What is covered depends on your needs and approved plan. The NDIS does not pay for ordinary living costs such as groceries and cleaning products.
Who is eligible for NDIS household tasks support?
NDIS participants who cannot complete household tasks because of their disability may be eligible, if the support is included in their plan. The NDIS makes the final decision based on your needs and goals.
How does the NDIS fund household tasks?
Household tasks are funded under Core Supports, in the Assistance with Daily Life category. Your plan, support coordinator or plan manager can confirm how much is available and how it can be used.
Can the NDIS help with cleaning services?
Yes, in some cases. If your disability means you cannot clean your home safely or effectively, cleaning support may be funded. This is usually regular cleaning rather than specialist or one-off work. Ask us or your support coordinator about your situation.
How often can I get help with household tasks?
It depends on your plan and your needs. Some participants have help once a week, while others need support more often. We will talk through what works for you and what your funding allows.
Can I choose my own provider?
Yes. Participants have choice and control over their providers. If your plan is NDIA-managed, you need to use a registered provider. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can also choose providers who are not registered.
What is the difference between household tasks and daily living skills?
Household tasks support is help with doing the tasks, either with you or for you. Daily living skills support focuses on teaching you how to do tasks yourself. Many people use a mix of both. See our daily living skills page.
Do I have to pay for cleaning products and groceries?
Usually yes. The NDIS funds the support worker's time, not everyday living costs. We will talk through what you need to supply before we start.
Can I change or cancel a visit?
Yes. Our service agreement explains how much notice we need and what happens if a visit is cancelled.
How do I get started?
Call 0414 615 921 or send an enquiry. We will talk through your needs, check what is in your plan and plan next steps with you.
